In this sector risk report, we present the technology sector’s outlook in Colombia. We address the growing cybersecurity challenges that arise from greater digital activity and the main problems stemming from new cybercrime modalities, as well as the opportunities this outlook presents, namely for the data protection sector. The report also analyzes software development in Colombia. Its fast growth has increasingly generated benefits at the national level –even contributing 2.9% of GDP– and its products participate in sectors like banking, agriculture, and health. Yet, the country continues to face a growing deficit of skilled workers; hence, both the government and private sector will have to build efforts to meet this demand.
